Our Mission
The mission of St. Matthew’s Preschool (SMP), in partnership with St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, is to provide preschool students with a vibrant and developmentally appropriate early childhood program that addresses all areas of learning – social, intellectual, spiritual, and physical – in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Our School
Established in 2010, St. Matthew's Preschool provides a vibrant and developmentally appropriate preschool program for children ages 2-5. Our dedicated teachers are nurturing and supportive and provide a dynamic, thematic-based program which stimulates curiosity and discovery, and generates enthusiasm.
St. Matthew's Preschool is located on the grounds of the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in scenic Bedford, NY; the church itself is a historic building built in 1810. St. Matthew's property, covering approximately 65 acres, includes the Ketchum Sanctuary and the Glebe lands. There are hiking trails, a small river, and a lovely, naturalistic chapel in the woods.
